WE’RE HIRING - Full Time Front Office Lead

About Artisan Family Dental

We are a small, privately owned, family dental practice with a BIG heart. We love children and have a special ability to make them feel comfortable and at ease.

Dr. Karen Cun is a compassionate dentist who believes that informed patients are healthy patients. She goes out of her way to help them see the bigger picture of how oral health is related to their overall health. A graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Microbiology and from New York University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, Dr. Cun completed her general practice residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Dental Clinic.

Dr. Cun is generous with her knowledge - with patients, staff and interns. She ties seemingly unrelated things together in ways that are easy to understand and works with patients to bridge the connection between gum health and cardiac health and or by taking the time to explain how a simple adjustment to one’s dental routine could help offset dental issues brought about by certain medications.

It is THIS level of care, detail and big picture thinking is an integral part of who we are at Artisan Family Dental. And THIS needs to excite you if this is going to be a good fit!

Let’s Make Sure It’s a Great Fit!

Artisan Family Dental is excited to hire someone able to make patients feel at ease coming to the office - someone who believes that a great patient experience is everything! Think of the BEST patient experience you’ve ever witnessed – our aim is THAT! Do you like the idea of finding ONE thing to IMPROVE each day to make our patient experience even better than it was yesterday? Then you may be the right person for the job! Dental-specific experience is appreciated but not required. Customer service experience, however, is required. We have a training program and will help you grow with us and build your dental office abilities.

Because patients are often in fear, pain or both, it is critical that our Front Desk Lead be able to maintain patience and compassion and be able to find ways to be kind and caring. Our aim is to be ATTENTIVE to everyone - patients, vendors, coworkers, even delivery folks and people we see in the parking lot. When on the property, everyone at Artisan Family Dental is the face of the business.

Example of Daily/Weekly Tasks

  • Greet patients, answer phone and maintain full, high quality schedule
  • Proactively schedule, confirm appointments, stay on top of reschedules, maintain related logs and charts, and cultivate an active waiting list for those who want to be seen asap while adhering to scheduling guidelines
  • Make sure new patient paperwork and consent forms are completed - insurance verification and eligibility, breakdown of benefits, pre-authorizations for referrals and follow up with insurance claims
  • Check voicemails and email and receive mail and packages
  • Perform detailed work according to established guidelines and protocols - scan documents, file paperwork, update patient charts and handle lab follow-up
  • Maintain HIPAA manuals and ensure that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained
